Greetings from everyone at R:TC,
At R:TC we believe that community is vital for Christians, especially for people who desperately need change, restoration, and reconciliation. Hebrews 10:25 says that believers should meet together regularly for encouragement. James 5:20 invites believers to enter messy situations to bring truth to brothers and sisters who have wondered from it.
Community is in the DNA of biblical counseling because we know real change doesn’t only happen inside a person—it also needs to happen in the context of relationships. How we treat and speak to our family, friends, and colleagues is a window to our hearts. Our earthly (Horizontal) relationships are reflective of our Godly (Vertical) relationship. And, likewise our Vertical relationship informs our Horizontal relationships. When our relationship with God flourishes, it spills into other relationships around us, especially those closest to us. But sometimes a person’s struggle can be so deep and shameful that it is really hard to ask for help.
Counseling that serves the Church
At R:TC we are committed to serving local churches as they seek to be communities of change. We provide consultation for pastors and elders, we provide training for ministry teams, we lead workshops on counseling topics, and we provide short-term counseling help in difficult pastoral situations. I have often stated that R:TC is not the bride, but rather she is the bridesmaid. We at R:TC want to come alongside and help the Bride. Here are a some recent statements by a few pastors we have personally worked with in serving the Bride.
“Through their balance of biblical insight and skilled counseling, Redemption: Twin Cities has helped many people I have referred for counseling. And more than that, they have helped me become a better pastor. I thank God for the work he is doing through Cache Barnes and his team of proven, trusted counselors. It is a privilege for our church to partner with R:TC.”
Pastor for Worship and Music: Downtown Campus
Bethlehem Baptist Church
Redemption: Twin Cities has been the most trusted counseling service of our church since we planted a few years ago. At the macro level, their commitment to the gospel and the local church shines through in the practical ways they partner with us. They act as an extension of our on-going discipleship and member care, and seek to come alongside our shepherding ministry. At the micro level, Redemption Twin Cities understands our shared humanity as men and women created in the image of God. Their support and counsel to individuals is drenched with experience and wisdom, and I am eager to recommend their work.
Cities Church Lead Pastor
Paul, speaking to the Thessalonians, said “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word” (1 Thess. 2:16-17). What a blessing to have this kind of help in serving people through R:TC, as much grace, goodness, comfort and hope is brought to bear in Christ.

It is a privilege for us to walk with churches and serve them in multiple areas of ministry. I hope you have been encouraged over the past few weeks by the stories of redemption we have shared. As we look ahead to 2019 I am excited to keep sharing these stories with you. Do you have a story to share of how God met you through biblical counseling? We would love to hear it!
We have nearly reached our goal for 2018! We are short approximately $600. Thank you to all who have given and prayed. And please give to support our work this month and next year as the Lord leads you. 25% of our ministry is underwritten by your gifts.
May God be our Rock and Refuge,
